Actor Prakash Raj tweets photos of BJP leaders claiming they’re celebrating ‘Tipu Jayanti’

New Delhi: Actor Prakash Raj Thursday posted a few photos of what he claims to be BJP leaders celebrating ‘Tipu Jayanti’, on Twitter.

However, the photos used were taken from felicitation and iftar parties that took place in 2010, 2012, and 2013.

The tweet came in reaction to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s appeal to the people of Karnataka, urging them not to celebrate ‘Tipu Jayanti’ in the “land of Hanuman”.

One of the pictures posted by Prakash Raj shows former Karnataka CM B.S. Yeddyurappa being felicitated by Syed Nizam Ali, Karnataka Janata Paksha leader, and others, during the Karnataka Janatha Paksha Minority Convention in Bengaluru in 2013.

The second picture shows ex-CM, Jagdish Shettar, attending an an iftar party organised by BJP Minority Morcha state unit in Bangalore in 2012.

The third picture shows Yeddyurappa attending an iftar party at Khuddus Saheb Idgah Maidan in Bengaluru in 2010.

  1. You must get the facts right. Many of the BJP leaders were there in thetipu jayanthi. Jagdesh Shetter ex CM even Written a foreword for book on Tipu and this was published by the state government.
