New Delhi: The WHO announced the second edition of its Week of Quality training program. The initiative builds on the success of the first week, which focused on vaccines, medicines, and in vitro diagnostics (IVDs).

The Week of Quality for In Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs) will take place from 15 to 18 April 2024, with a virtual training program, said the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The event will cover the fundamentals needed for IVD development and production, including core elements of compliant performance evaluation and building ‘quality by design’ into clinical performance studies.

The training program is designed to empower manufacturers and regulatory authorities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) with the knowledge and skills needed to promote strategies for product design, development, and production of IVDs.

It is specifically developed for manufacturers and regulatory authorities in LMICs, with the theme of optimizing IVD product development: principles of design, quality and compliance. The virtual training takes place from 12:00 to 14:30 (Geneva Time).

Registration is open to manufacturers and regulatory authorities (Ministry of Health, National Regulatory Authorities) in LMICs. The training program is free of charge.
