New Delhi: Quick commerce platform Swiggy Instamart has announced the launch of  India’s first on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service. The platform has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise.

“Instamart has expanded its consumption use cases well beyond groceries to become part of everyday life. With HPCL, we’re extending that convenience to an essential household service, bringing LPG onto Instamart while maintaining the safety and reliability standards consumers expect,” said Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha.

This partnership between Swiggy and HPCL brings one of the most essential household needs into the instant-delivery fold.

“The launch also marks the debut of HPCL’s newly launched HP Navya, its next-generation 10 kg composite LPG cylinder, on Instamart,” a Swiggy press release read.

The service will be available only in Bengaluru for now, where people can order the HP Navya cylinder, which is lighter, corrosion-resistant, and built with enhanced safety features. It is also easy to carry, and features a translucent body that allows customers to conveniently monitor the gas level.

“Its compact, contemporary design makes it an ideal choice for apartments, small families, working professionals, students, and households looking for a convenient secondary LPG cylinder. In addition to this, the 5 kg metal LPG cylinder will also be available,” said Swiggy.

‘Fast and convenient’

Notably, no existing domestic LPG connection is required to buy the HP Navya cylinder, making it a flexible, on-demand option for a wider set of consumers, including students, working professionals, and smaller households

“Customer needs are evolving, and HPCL is committed to provide innovative solutions to meet them. We are making LPG more accessible and convenient for Naya Bharat with focus on safety, trust and reliability that customers associate HP Gas with,” said Amit Garg, Director-Marketing, HPCL.

“HP Navya, our new Composite LPG Cylinder brand, reflects our commitment to delivering innovative energy solutions that make everyday life simpler and more convenient. Through the Instamart platform, we will be able to reach customers through a fast, convenient and digitally enabled platform, making HP Navya Composite LPG Cylinders more accessible while enhancing the overall customer experience,” he added.

On Instamart, users can select the 10-kg composite LPG cylinder or the 5-kg metal cylinder, add it to cart, and place an order. Customers need to purchase the cylinder only once, after which they can place refill orders by returning the empty cylinder.

Orders are fulfilled through HPCL’s authorised distributor network and delivered by the distributor’s trained personnel under applicable safety and regulatory protocols. First-time orders require identity verification, with proof-of-delivery documentation built into the process to ensure a safe, compliant experience end to end.

For Instamart, which delivers over 50,000 SKUs, the launch marks a step into high-trust categories, deepening its role in consumers’ everyday lives. And for HPCL, it extends decades of distribution expertise into a new, tech-first channel built for convenience.
