New Delhi: Actor Neha Dhupia recently called out the paparazzi for repeatedly filming her from behind, calling it disrespectful. The confrontation happened at a public event in Mumbai, where she lashed out at photographers over their coverage.
This isn’t the first time the paparazzi have used objectifying angles while filming celebrities. It has been a recurring talking point online. Actors like Jaya Bachchan, Saptami Gowda, Rukmini Vasanth, and Sonakshi Sinha have all voiced similar frustrations in the past. Now, Dhupia has joined this growing list.
Dhupia’s outburst wasn’t sudden. Before Dhupia became a target, the paparazzi had spent considerable time fixated on similar back shots of Malaika Arora. However, now they seem to shift their attention to Dhupia. Lately, several videos of the actress from events have gone viral on social media where photographers have deliberately zoomed in on her lower body rather than filming her normally.
At the recent Mumbai event, the actress finally confronted the paps. A video of the conversation has gone viral, where Dhupia looks visibly frustrated as she demands accountability and calls for the practice to stop altogether. In the video, she makes it clear that her objection isn’t a one-off complaint, and that she has been noticing an ongoing pattern of disrespectful coverage.
In the clip, Dhupia can be heard saying that her earlier warnings had been ignored, urging the media to approach celebrity coverage with more dignity.
“Mera nahi karna hai. Kisi ka nahi karna hai. Bol bol kar thak gaye hain. Yeh sab nahi chalega abhi. Band karo yeh sab. We have been telling you again and again. Hum log bahut izzat se aap logon se baat karte hain, but this is not acceptable (I don’t want this done to me. Not to anyone. We’ve been saying this again and again. This will not be allowed anymore. Stop all this. We speak to you with a lot of respect, but this is not acceptable),” she said in the video.
