New Delhi: Following casteist attacks, trolling and criticism over Cockroach Janta Party, founder Abhijeet Dipke has claimed in a recent post on X that he has been receiving death threats.

In a series of posts on X, Dipke posted screenshots of messages he has been receiving on WhatsApp.

Dipke, the founder of CJP, started the parody party on 16 May following CJI Surya Kant remarks during a hearing last Friday.

The CJI referred to the unemployed youth of India, as “cockroaches” and “parasites”. The CJI later said that the media had misquoted him. His remarks, he clarified, were aimed at people “using fake and bogus” degrees.

Death threats on WhatsApp

Thirty-year-old Dipke is currently in Boston, US, where he had been pursuing a degree in public relations.

Earlier today, Dipke posted the “death threats” received from Indian numbers.

The messages, in one of the screenshots, read “Abhi toh number mila hai… tera ghar milne mein der nahi (We’ve got your number now, finding your house won’t take long).”

Another message in the same screenshot, censored by Dipke, seems to imply that the sender knows the location of his parents.

In another tweet, he shared a screenshot showing someone offering him a bribe to delete the CJP account and  join the BJP.

The message further read, “warna America mein bhi marwa denge (otherwise we can get you killed in America).”

Dipke left the numbers unobscured in both screenshots.

Truecaller has marked both numbers as “likely spam”. The first is identified as Ka and the second is identified as It on the app.

Comments under both numbers in the app are proclaiming support for CJP.

Tajinder Bagga, National Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, shared a screenshot claiming that the second number belonged to a “Waris Hussain”.

“so as per @abhijeet_dipke Waris Hussain offered him to join BJP,” the accompanying tweet read.

Dipke also shared a video sent to him via Whatsapp, where an unnamed man threatens him, saying he knows the locations of his family members. He says Dipke should leave CJP and join BJP.

A growing movement

Dipke formed the CJP as satire, unaware that this would turn into a political movement. The party has crossed 20 million followers in less than a week.

The party’s X account was “withheld” in India Thursday.

Dipke created a new account in response—Cockroach is Back. It’s gained over 1.6 lakh followers in a day.

Earlier in the week, Dipke told ThePrint that he has been getting requests from youth to continue this movement.

“They wrote to me, do not back off!” Dipke said.
