HOUSTON (Reuters) – U.S. government forecasters on Thursday expect a more dangerous Atlantic storm season this year, raising their outlook for major hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean due to high sea surface temperatures.

The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said between two and five major hurricanes with sustained winds above 111 miles per hour (179 kmh) could form by the end of November, up one from their May forecast.
