(Reuters) – Tropical Storm Gordon has formed near the Cape Verde islands, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Friday.
The storm was about 990 miles (1590 km), west-northwest of Cape Verde islands, packing maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 kph), the Miami-based forecaster said.
