New Delhi: One of Hollywood’s most iconic horror filmmakers, M Night Shyamalan, is switching mediums. He is moving from the big screen to YouTube.
Shyamalan announced on X that he is launching his own YouTube channel, offering fans a more personal look into his life and career.
“I am M Night Shyamalan… I am a filmmaker, I make movies for a living, and this is my YouTube channel,” he said in the video.
The filmmaker admitted that he is still unsure what his future on the platform will look like, but added that he is excited to see where the new venture takes him. He hopes his fans will join him on the journey.
So far, Shyamalan has uploaded one video introducing himself and sharing his plans for the channel. He said one of his main goals is to build a deeper connection with his fans while reflecting on his career and creative journey.
In the video, Shyamalan is seen sitting on a bench that he calls his “thinking bench”
“This is my little bench that I come to think on. Actually, my office gave me this as a present here under the tree. So I come out here to kind of calm it down when I am not feeling great, which is often,” he said.
Shyamalan concluded the video by saying that he is “stepping into the unknown” and has no idea what kind of content he will eventually share on the channel.
The filmmaker has several acclaimed films to his name, with The Sixth Sense arguably serving as his breakthrough. The 1999 horror film, starring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment, follows a young boy named Cole (Osment) who claims he can see dead people.
His other notable work includes The Visit (2015) and Unbreakable (2001).
