New Delhi: Actor Jennifer Lawrence has joined Instagram and her first post comes with a hilarious warning: If anyone says anything negative, she will just quit the platform.
“So yeah, I’m giving this a shot, and if anyone says anything negative, I’ll quit. Really, no questions asked,” she said in her first Reel.
The Oscar winner also joked that if anyone even thinks something mean about her, she’ll know about it and quit. She uploaded the Reel, warning fans to “please be mindful.”
“Any mean or aggressive comments can negatively affect the baby… it’s me. I’m the baby,” she wrote.

Why she was not on socials
Lawrence, 36, had stayed away from social media for years. In a 2018 interview with InStyle, she had revealed that she did use social media privately, but described herself as a “voyeur” who only watched others without posting herself.
“There is always so much backlash. So many people are listening and paying attention, and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything… I don’t want to put myself out there for no reason. Unless I’m promoting soothing or something really burns my onions,” she said.
Lawrence joined Instagram on 9 September taking the handle @jlaw, as @jenniferlawrence was already taken by another user. The Hunger Games star even joked about it in her Instagram bio, writing, “jenniferlawrence was taken.”
Her Instagram debut quickly attracted a huge audience, with her account crossing one million followers within hours, and in three days it has reached 3.5 million followers.
Lawrence’s warning Reel is filled with celebrities and brands welcoming her on the platform and some of them promising to protect her from negativity.
“I will protect your comments section from negativity,” wrote the Lego Batman handle.
Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp took it a notch further and called it the “best day” of his life.
