New Delhi: V from the South Korean band BTS is dealing with a problem in his right ear. During a livestream on Wednesday, he revealed the issue to fans amid a world tour.
“If the hearing in my left ear is at 100, it’s only about 30 in my right,” V had said during a livestream.
V’s legal name is Kim Tae-hyung, and the band is currently reuniting all seven members after they went on hiatus for mandatory military service. He joined the military in 2023 and was discharged in June 2025.
In the stream, he said that when he first started experiencing the problem, he thought it was a matter of mental strength, but he is now taking medication and going to the hospital regularly.
V is not the only BTS member dealing with health issues during the ARIRANG World Tour. Jungkook, the songwriter of the band, also revealed during the livestream that he has been dealing with a shin injury, which is now on the verge of developing into a fracture.
“There’s a lot of inflammation in my shin, and I think some microdamage to the bone. I’ll be careful with myself so I can finish this tour properly,” he said.
The ARIRANG tour will conclude on March 16 next year in the Philippines.

‘Decided not to submit for Grammy’
The pop band have announced that they will not submit their music for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards to be held on 7 February 2027.
Recently, the group announced its decision through Instagram, with all seven members posting the same statement on Wednesday.
“We have decided not to submit for Grammy consideration this year. We hope our music can be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language. We thank ARMY and everyone who has always stood by us,” the statement reads.
The band’s announcement came months after the Recording Academy announced a new category, Best Asian Pop Music Performance. The Academy described the category as a way to recognise Asian pop music performances originating from or widely accepted within Asian markets, including Korean pop, Japanese pop and Chinese pop.
“Awards are presented to the performing artists for recordings featuring meaningful use of one or more Asian languages,” the Academy’s description states.
