New Delhi: Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms has partnered with YouTube to launch five original shows featuring a total of 200 episodes.

Calling it “The Indian KDrramas,” Kapoor said new episodes will be released every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The slate will feature a mix of returning shows and new projects. The announced returning and new titles include Haq Se, Phir Pyar Ki Yeh Kahani Suno, Puncch Beat and Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai, with other projects currently in development.

Taking viewers back to the campus romance Puncch Beat, Kapoor shared a video of the show on Instagram, saying, “Before the next chapter of new stories unfold, it’s time to head back to #PunchBeat’s campus and relive the ultimate romance.”

“The Indian KDrramas”, she said it would “bring every bit of that drama back”.

“Ready to get hooked again? The campus gates open tomorrow. Tune in every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,” she added.

Under the partnership, Kapoor will lead the creative vision and retain ownership of the intellectual property, while YouTube will handle global distribution and monetisation through advertising and brand partnerships.

The partnership comes amid growing consumption of YouTube content on connected TV screens in India. According to YouTube, the platform reached more than 75 million people aged 18 and above on connected TVs in India in April 2025.

Citing Comscore data, the company also said YouTube had the highest reach among media platforms on connected TV screens in India in May 2025.

Commenting on the collaboration, Kapoor said storytelling had always been about creating emotional connections that stay with audiences beyond the screen.

“Every story begins with a feeling, one that has the power to touch hearts, spark memories, and bring people together. For me, storytelling has always been about creating emotional connections that stay with audiences long after the screen goes dark,” she said.

“As more and more viewers turn to YouTube to discover and engage with content, it presents an exciting opportunity to connect with audiences in the most innovative ways. Through this partnership with YouTube India, we’re opening a new chapter to share stories that entertain, inspire, and truly move people across the globe,” Kapoor added.

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
