New Delhi: Filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane are teaming up once again, this time to back writer-director Ravi Muppa’s short film Incognito. The film will mark the debut release of Oh Flip Shorts, a new YouTube channel dedicated to short films. Both the platform and its first film are set to release on July 15.
Oh Flip Shorts is the brainchild of producer Ranjan Singh, with Kashyap coming on board as a curator. The plan is to release one new short film every month, and slowly build an audience for independent short-form storytelling.
Incognito (2026), which stars Vikram Singh, Ayushi Nema, and Dev Chauhan, has already had a strong festival run, screening at more than 20 international festivals. It was also screened at the Oscar-qualifying Palm Springs International ShortFest.
The short film follows a cash-strapped receptionist who earns extra money by secretly filming guests and selling the footage. Things take a darker turn when he films a woman who appears to be a trafficking victim, leaving him torn between staying safe or stepping in to help.
“I’ve always loved short films as they are the first stepping stone for a director to test their storytelling style and give an actual practice to them of shooting a story,” Kashyap said in a media statement shared by his assistant. “This is our effort to showcase some excellent short films, curated by me and presented by filmmakers whose work I look up to. We’re glad to begin with ‘Incognito’ by Ravi Muppa, and we are very hopeful that it’ll be liked by the audience.”
Muppa’s earlier development credits include Stree, Bala and The Family Man. With the psychological thriller Incognito, he is set to make his directorial debut. Now, conversation for a feature-length version of Incognito is already underway, with Invention Studios joining Flip Films and Campfire Studios joining hands as co-producers.
“The film has been an incredibly special journey, and I’m deeply grateful to the producers, collaborators, and champions who believed in it and helped carry it forward. I’m especially excited that this is just the beginning, as we now look ahead to expanding ‘Incognito’ into a feature,” Muppa said in a media statement.
Motwane and Kashyap had collaborated earlier this year in May when they backed Titwik Pareek’s Dug Dug (2026) as executive producers on its board.
