New Delhi: After exploring the story of Neem Karoli Baba with Hanuman Ansh (2026), filmmaker Vishal Chaturvedi has announced RamBola, a film based on the life and legacy of poet Mahakavi Goswami Tulsidas.
Chaturvedi, who wrote and directed Hanuman Ansh, will also write and direct RamBola. The film is being produced by Mahaveer Jain Films, Amit Upadhyay, and Raghuvendra Singh.
Goswami Tulsidas was a 16th-century poet and saint best known for Ramcharitmanas, his Awadhi retelling of the Ramayana. His other works include Vinay Patrika, Kavitavali, Gitavali and Dohavali.
Announcing the project through an Instagram post on Monday, Vishal wrote, “With Bappa’s Blessings, on this auspicious day, with humility and gratitude we bring to you RamBola – The Immortal story of Goswami Tulsidas.”
‘Hanuman Ansh’ continues its box-office run
The announcement comes as Hanuman Ansh continues its box-office run. Released on August 7, the film opened on a few hundred screens, but has since expanded significantly, with more than 6,500 shows across India.
According to Sacnilk, Hanuman Ansh has collected Rs 214.63 crore net in India, against its reported budget of Rs 2 crore.
What made Hanuman Ansh different from a big-budget release such as Toxic (2026) was the scale of its marketing, star power, and budget. Toxic, headlined by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and backed by a major production and promotional campaign, has earned around Rs 340 crore against its reported budget of Rs 300 crore.
Hanuman Ansh had a limited promotional campaign and featured a largely unfamiliar cast. Rajiv Mishra, Rishikesh Dubey, Hunny Bakshi and Rishi Pathak have limited or no IMDb presence. Chand K Anand has previously worked in Homebound (2025) and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008), and Purnima Tiwari, who has worked in the TV series Pyaar Ki Raahein, are among the cast with previous screen credits.

The story of Neem Karoli Baba
The story revolves around the early life of Laxman Das, who left his home at the age of 13 after his mother died. The film follows his transformation from a 13-year-old boy into Neem Karoli Baba through his experiences, his connection with Hanuman, and the miracles surrounding his life.
Details about the cast and release date of Vishal’s upcoming film, RamBola, are yet to be announced.
