New Delhi, May 5 (PTI) State-owned NHPC on Tuesday said it has commercial supply of electricity from the fourth unit of its 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project.
NHPC is constructing the hydroelectric project (having eight units of 250 MW each) at about Rs 27,000 crore near North Lakhimpur on the border of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
In an exchange filing, the company said, “it…declares commercial operation (CoD) of Unit 4 of Subansiri Lower HE Project from 00:00 hours on 08.05.2026”.
With this, CoD of four units of the project has been declared and the CoD of remaining units will be intimated in due course, NHPC said.
Subansiri Lower HE Project is the largest hydroelectric project ever undertaken in India and is a run-of-river project with water storage on Subansiri. PTI ABI TRB
