New Delhi, Apr 5 (PTI) Advisory and consultation firm Grant Thornton Bharat has started operations from its new office at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) IFSC after getting requisite approvals.
Grant Thornton Bharat has commenced operations from April 1, 2022, in GIFT City IFSC. The company has been working with the authorities and has been advising clients about tax and regulatory advantages, GIFT City said in a statement.
CEO of Grant Thornton Bharat Vishesh C Chandiok termed the move as a conscious decision, adding that the onus to create a vibrant nation does not solely depend on the government and public sector but private sector also has a key role to play.
“Being the first IFSC in the country, it is imperative for banks, insurers, fund managers, stock exchanges, capital market intermediaries, law firms, accounting firms and business consultancies to be a part of this ecosystem and actively get involved in India’s growth story,” he added.
GIFT City is India’s first operational smart city and International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). It has become a preferred destination for offshore business and investments with its proactive rules, competitive tax regime and other incentives, the statement added. PTI HG RUJ RUJ
