New Delhi: The Indian Navy conducted the XPOL 2024 exercise to validate the procedures for ensuring the readiness of the Navy to meet the maritime security challenges in the region, a PIB press release stated.
The exercise was conducted in multiple phases, including combat training in a realistic scenario during the Tactical Phase and successful conduct of various firings during the Weapon Phase.
The exercise aimed to assess the Indian Navy’s ability to deliver ordnance on target and reaffirmed its capability to enhance maritime domain awareness in a realistic scenario. It also witnessed participation from IAF, Andaman & Nicobar Command, and Coast Guard, indicating the high degree of interoperability among the services.
The successful conclusion of the XPOL 2024 exercise will help in enhancing the readiness of the Indian Navy to respond effectively to the maritime challenges in the region. It also reaffirms the Navy’s resolve to meet the growing security challenges in the maritime domain.
