New Delhi: Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer has partnered with India’s Bharat Forge, a Kalyani Group company, for supply of forged raw material for its aircraft fleet. The deal will see Bharat Forge become the first Indian supplier of forged raw material to Embraer.
“The agreement supports Embraer’s global supply chain with high quality forged products and reinforces the company’s strategy of expanding and diversifying its supplier base, while fostering industrial capabilities in key growth markets”, the Brazilian company said in a press statement.
The financial terms and the contracted value have not been disclosed. Embraer is among the world’s leading civilian aircraft manufacturers, designing and producing a wide range of aircraft, including for the defence sector.
“In line with our supply chain diversification strategy, we view India as a major opportunity. This contract reinforces our plans to create a more resilient and competitive supply chain, as well as our commitment to developing the Indian aerospace industry,” said Roberto Chaves, Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain at Embraer.
Amit B Kalyani, Vice Chairman & Joint MD of the Bharat Forge Limited, highlighted the fact that BFL is the first Indian supplier for Embraer.
The contract comes at a time when Embraer is expanding its presence in the country, eyeing not just the defence space but also civil.
Embraer had in January 2026 entered into a strategic partnership with Adani Group to establish a Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the E 175 regional jet, an 80-seater aimed at growing number of regional routes in India under the UDAN scheme, a flagship Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) of the Government of India.
The Brazilian company had also announced its Indian subsidiary last May eyeing the large aerospace market.
The company has also tied up with Mahindra Group for Indian Air Force’s mega medium transport aircraft deal.
Embraer has pitched its C-390 Millenium multi-mission aircraft to replace its Antonov An-32 transport aircraft. India is seeking to purchase at least 40 aircraft. Embraer is competing with Airbus’ A400M for the deal and the Lockheed Martin C130J.
