Already Joint families have shrunk in size to nuclear families.Marriage has become a taboo nowadays.
Exposure to western culture and the so called spurious education ,have they dulled the native
intelligence of our womenfolk?
did we not lose the pride of fact that family unit was the supportive structure of our social fabric ,unlike
in the west.
Now the west is learning from the east ,but east is experimenting with its basic foundational values
with out knowing what great harm it cause to society.Media should play their cards carefully.
I would also be happy to see Draupadi represented as the beautiful dark-skinned woman she was. She’s undergone a lot of white washing. It’s as important to recognize.
If I am correct and remember correctly by Maithili Sharan Gupt in the 19th century did write about Urmila (hum raj ke liye marte hein) and gautam buddha’s wife ( sakhi woh mujhse kahake jate) . Both are were ane eye openr for me atleast – one we learnt in 9th and the second in the 11th. Somewhere lost the essense of it all in the hustle bustle of life
May be our son’s will hear about Lord Rama who could stand up against his own dilemma and marital vow to honor demand of citizens of his kingdom. Unlike Secular icons of today Lord Rama did not justify his action and clung to his throne by passing batton to his wife, son and daughter. Is this not what everyone demands even today when it is proclaimed “Cesar’s wife should be above suspicion”.
