If the Gandhis are not at the helm helm of congress, they will probably have to start paying the fees of fancy lawyers for themselves and the extended family. The lawyers will want their pound of flesh and that is not peanuts. Even to keep delaying the cases it costs money forget about acquittal. Besides there are those who seek political relevance which can come only if the family is at the helm.
Why give break just to Rahul Gandhi? India needs to give break to the whole Congress ideology itself. Without Congress, India will regain its past glory. Along with Congress India needs a break from anti Hindu linbrandus.
RG has absolutely no stomach for a dedicated, hard fight to get to the PM’s post by enthusing the voters and getting them to believe in him. He wants that , ‘somehow or the other”, HE should be the PM without any campaigning, fighting elections, strategy sessions and ‘actual thinking’. His party would also like Modi to simply ‘go away’ so that HE can be PM, Unfortunately for RG and his Congress, India is still a Democracy. “Contempt” and ridicule for Modi alone cannot get him the PM’s post. But he can never realise this.
The lifelong presidency of the Congress, also the country’s top job, for six to seven years, were on offer to Mr Rahul Gandhi since 2004. Younger leaders often felt their natural career progression was being impeded because he was neither in nor out, nor could they be allowed to sparkle. 150 foreign trips in 15 years, not necessarily a vice, pilots and air hostesses do even more. 2. The Congress will accept what is thrust on them, go down with the Titanic. Not the people of this country. As Shri Sharad Pawar told Ms Nirupama Subramanian in a recent interview, the Opposition is falling short, unable to offer the country a viable alternative.
