Lesson for politicians: Don’t jump the gun for political expediency and desist from playing politics over tragedies.

Third phase of polling is an opportunity for Election Commission to redeem itself. Unedifying spectacle of EC revising voter turnout percentages 11 days after first phase did no good to its image. Delay in publishing constituency-wise absolute numbers also raises uncomfortable questions. Poll watchdog must address apprehensions with full disclosures.
