The government/BJP and the opposition taking potshots at each other on the Balakot air strikes is deplorable. Both sides are to blame for using a national security issue to score points in election season. This insults the victims of Pulwama and forces who risked their lives to hit Pakistan.

PM Modi’s attempt at a political joke about dyslexia is in bad taste and deepens the stigma faced by people with disabilities, whom he’d called ‘divyang’. It is election season but disability is no laughing matter. Instead of encouraging an empathetic conversation, Modi exhibited the worst form of discriminatory behaviour.
