Modi government’s decision to raise the upper limit for abortions from 20 to 24 weeks is progressive, brave and offers a role model to many Western democracies grappling with rising anti-abortion lobbies. It gives Indian women more right over their bodies. The Bill must now unambiguously include non-married women too.
