An ordinance to protect doctors and health workers is good, but belated. Safety of doctors has been a problem for years. It took the threat of a strike during a pandemic for the government to act. Modi government should also launch a mass campaign to influence people and change behaviours.

  1. Great pity that it needs a new law, enacted through an Ordinance, to keep doctors and nurses safe. These are the angels who are working far beyond the call of duty, all over the world. Twelve hours in a hazmat suit without a sip of water. Often fighting in the trenches without adequate protective gear. Consider how many have been infected, some have lost their lives, like the firefighters in New York after 9 / 11.
