Merger of 3 PSU banks is a bold gambit to tackle problems of the ailing sector. While it’s the first of many mountains the banks have to climb, the Modi government’s commitment to fix the sector is commendable. If only such focus was shown earlier instead of disastrous ideas like demonetisation.
