New Delhi: At least eight people were killed and nine injured after a massive fire broke out at a private hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur Monday, the police said.
The fire broke out at New Life Multi-speciality Hospital near Damoh Naka area of Jabalpur due to a short circuit, police said.
“It was a massive fire, and our teams rescued all the people trapped inside the hospital,” said Akhilesh Gaur, Chief Superintendent of Police, Jabalpur.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs each for the next of kin of the four killed in the incident.
