Narendra Modi is being taking his oath for the third time on 9 June 2024. At the age of 74 he is still standing as the favorite prime minister candidate of India. But has Modi has done everything right in his previous tenures or where he lacks and excels in the role? Let’s dig a bit into Modi’s past life for knowing his personality which we also see in his approach as a prime minister.

Modi who was born in a poor family has been contributing financially in running his family during childhood. In young age he escaped his marriage to the Himalayas while he became a disciple of a saint. This was a turning point in Modi’s life. After getting little teaching on religion and human duties he came back to Gujrat and joined RSS to be followed by getting involved in politics. He is said to have involvements in bringing down of Indira Gandhi during her tenure while Modi was in RSS then. Later joining in BJP he was involved in mainstream politics of India, had been CM of Gujrat for subsequent times and later elected first time as PM of India in 2014.

Many say Modi has a special place for the Hindus and often seen to be involved in various religious activities. Also, he is very strict in his decisions with little attachment or feelings toward others thoughts or emotions on those matters. His speeches also show the same intent. All of this is inherited from his personality which came inside him from his desire of becoming a saint and acting as same for a brief period in his life. The same is the reason he stands from the Varanasi constituency during Lok Sabha elections. There had been many reforms he had brought in his tenure of last ten years and stood firmly against all the odds on those decisions. We have also seen his interest in technological advancements and had been always ready to take steps supporting the same. Also, we shall be looking into the diplomatic approach he had taken in the international ties and decisions and how all the above things he had done had been a positive or rather negative in nature?

So basically, his place for Hindus is good, practically my point of view is that some practices related to some other religions are inhuman in nature. Hence, supporting the Hindu religion is good as in Hinduism there are none of inhuman practices mentioned to be good.  But one thing that always should be kept in mind is that in modern world humans are no more religiously bound. Some Hindus are there following malpractices while some from other religions are not. So, the basis of decision should always be the person and not their inherited religion. Next let move on to his strictness in decisions which are least inclined to feelings of others. This quantifies Modi as a strong leader. This approach also comes up from his history as a saint as saints are said to have least affection towards anything rather, they are right oriented. But I believe we shall also keep in mind that saint serve for humanity and not for society while PM is the role for a society or a nation where the decisions require to be though right but still less hurting other’s emotions as it can have dreadful results.

Modi’s interest in technology arose from the western world and bringing internet to every corner in India along with starting online facilities for most of the services is a very good work done by Modi for each class of people. He started many other technology related projects which are also always good and should be welcome. His diplomatic approach in international ties and decisions always has a touch of deep political knowledge from ancient history. So those decisions so far had seen no harm to India’s foreign image and security. We should keep in mind that India as a developing nation and not having all latest amenities can always look on an aggressive node to its enemy nations. Rather Modi has been taking the nation on right track to reach to that position where it can do so. We can see that Modi has friendly allies with most of the superpower nations and hence had never faced real threat to its security. Modi is also good in keeping confidential information safe and has been one of the positive traits in his reign. The economic growth of the country also in Modi rule is not so bad. As I see without any opposition raised issues both the rich and poor are improving their standard of living slowly.

But lastly one more approach of Modi that is under scrutiny is publicizing himself and every other thing. This approach is not required and can enrich hatred in thoughts of many towards him and can have dreadful results too. Except this Modi on a whole can be certified among one of the top PMs the country has ever had since independence.
