Based on Einstein Theory of Relativity a popular flick Interstellar by Christopher Nolan released in 2014, it’s not possible to explain it in few words but those who do not know about it, in summary an Astronaut named Cooper left earth when he is roughly 40 years and his daughter around 10 years old and when he returns from his crucial mission her daughter is roughly 95 years and he himself is still around 60, but this article is not about the story it’s about an AI based robot TARS who is a partner to Cooper in this mission which in the beginning has a honesty setting of 90% and the AI based robot replies that “Absolute honesty isn’t always the most diplomatic nor the safest form of communication with emotional beings.” As the Space mission progress at more crucial stage Cooper the Astronaut decides to increase its honesty setting from 90 to 95% now the fundamental question is why ? One logical answer of it seems that at this high stake space exploration situation trust between all crew members even if human to robot scenario need to be effective, while for the Humour setting he keeps it around 60% (Consider 25 % as a rude character  and 100% as a Non Sense Character)

Now Coming back to the statement made by TARS on Absolute honesty and emotional being (Humans) as a person with around 20 years in corporate I can vouch that leaders who were higher on honesty in communication to team had a higher attrition rate in their department with as high as 80% attrition rate against a 20% normal rate while same is true in families too the normal dysfunctional family percentage will jump from 10% to 60% if honest conversation between the parties involved start to take place.

To explain the scenario I decided to pick on social media two stars popular today one as Ashneer Grover a popular Unicorn founder and a Shark Tank Season 1 Judge who became popular solely because he was direct and thus had a polarizing effect on the audience half liking him half disliking him, Ashneer Strongly believes Self help books do not help while on the other hand I picked Ankur Warikoo an equally popular person written some self help books, YouTube full of motivational content explaining how just 1 % improvement every day can give 37 times improved output in just 1 year (mathematically absolute correct) and then his sweet narration reminds of the likeable character of Shashi Kapoor in late 70s movie of a good boy, good husband/boyfriend, son etc

Now if we see both are certainly honest in their conversation with 90% + rate but the humour settings of these 2 individuals varies which can create a sense of pressure or intimidation for people around them yet we have equal good number of followers for both explaining that whatever is true the equal and opposite is also true just like the concept of duality has been taught in ancient Hinduism text like Saguna Brahman ( Personal God “with attributes” like Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) or Nirguna Brahman ( Impersonal God “without attributes” or The Absolute) but irrespective of the path chosen the factor which will determine the success of an individual is the Trust in the path although Humour Setting in both the path will vary and a person will choose as per his or her inclination.

Many times people who have gone through painful times due to war, riots or pandemic seek for a truth and reconciliation conversation, considering the paucity of qualified individuals in these fields it can be an interesting area where we have to see if Artificial Intelligence or ChatGPT where worlds billionaires/Scientist like Elon Musk or cognitive scientist Gary Marcus or Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak are divided at the moment can come to a consensus & launch products like TARS where a TARS kind of robot for the public can be used in an effective manner with the right level of honesty and humour based on the temperament of the individual and keep the emotional beings awaked, self aware and fit all the time for a greater cause, we live in interesting times in AI innovation and I am hopeful for an answer in the next decade!
