Many Times Nations, Religion and even ideology right vs left has an enemy, which is needed for people to unite behind one common objective but as the saying goes the biggest victory of the enemy is when in the process of eliminating it you start acquiring all the characteristics for which that particular person/religion/nation was your enemy, for example take a religion based on pluralistic values where truth or God can be achieved in various ways when subject to a perceived threat inherit all the characteristics of Abrahamic faith based on religion where one book is the way to tell what is right vs wrong. You can write history and rewrite history and make your own hero’s and villains but until you learn from history it is going to make no difference, issue is not that solution is not possible issue is when action is needed we end up mostly in escapism, which explains why around the world comedians are getting popular on YouTube/Instagram you may see millions of followers and some at a later part successfully become President and Chief Minster too while on the same social medium like YouTube folks busy in sincere journalism hardly reach 5 Million Subscriber mark, that is why you will see even in elections in Indian context very rarely a Serious Journalist will win a Loksabha election against a Comedian if ever placed, they (Journalist) still do make into Rajya Sabha but that path we all know how. So the mentality is still the same for masses around the world either give us an enemy or give entertainment but do not give any action on us at individual level, we need some angel or “Messiah” to fix our problems in a world inspired by outsourcing theme.
Changing gear from Religion to Economy take an example of a country like USA which has been the poster boy of Capitalism and yet when the Covid19 hit the world was forced to doll out freebies to its folks which ultimately resulted in the current season of banking crisis and layoffs. So a Right ideology is often doing what a Left aspires and promises, similar examples can be found in South Asian Countries as well where freebies are doll out mostly to win vote even by parties who claim to be at centre of the spectrum ideally instead of free at least some social work can be asked to be done by the masses in return but just as it jeopardize the vote bank it will never be done.
In Mathematics two negatives make one positive but in real world they have the potential to exponentially multiply the negative situation, jumping the guns to green energy where fossil fuels can be and will be replaced by EVs as per COP28 declaration aren’t we just changing the problem statement now to extract lithium and other metals as much as possible from the One Earth we have thus its not solving the problem it’s a rewording of the problem which will end up in creating new ecosystem based on non fossil fuels and thus a new way of living, just like we see often people focusing too much on Physical Health and in the process Mental Health going for a toss. The 5 stages of grief as we know jumps from Denial to Anger to Bargain to Depression to Acceptance in a cyclic pattern, as an individual it’s crucial that instead of becoming a victim of these cycles based on indoctrination induced in our nerves based on religion, ideology, economy, peer pressure we realize that no enemy zone is better that having a friend zone on various social media.
The Point here is that often for which people are discounting the opponent have the characteristic which they themselves will do in each situation, if the world can be more empathetic with a higher level of acceptance the No Enemy state can be reached, in a world post covid its crucial that mankind together look into all the situations holistically and ask and then finally ACT in right direction.
