Environment: World is concerned and talking about the climate changes, still not much happening to stop and reverse the same. For example the pollution level in NCR is annual news and noise, but no structured, planned, targeted action taken as yet.  Clean Ganga initiative is another one, which has been practically ineffective, besides hole in the tax-payers money.

I wonder how good it will be to humanity if we have very aggressive urban afforestation as a mission is carried out. We can have this initiative carried out by participation from public and private entities. The schools, colleges, corporates, govt bodies can mandate and drive this,

The urban afforestation is a high-powered ministry in central and state govts.

In cities, every small patch of public land has some or other tree planted and watered for next 5 years in all tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 cities.

Along with national, state highways, afforestation is carried out.

Patch of lands along with railway track, these are also potential lands where the afforestation can be carried out

These can not only revive the earth, but also generate a lot of indirect employment.

Elections: Appraisals are part and parcel of all the working class’s life, starting from school, college, hiring into a job, then annual appraisals in job. With national elections approaching, I was wondering, why there should not be a mechanism of appraisal for the elected netas upon completion of their term from their respective constituencies, as well as the positions they hold.

This will bring a lot of transparency & professionalism in democracy, besides a host of other benefits.
