SEOUL, July 28 (Reuters) – A “leak” of white phosphorus occurred inside the Osan Air Base in South Korea on Tuesday and an evacuation advisory has been issued for nearby residents, South Korea’s safety ministry said.

The highly toxic substance is often used in weapons and can ignite on contact with oxygen, according to the World Health Organization.
