MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – The Mexico City International Airport on Tuesday said that some airlines had decided to cancel flights after increased activity from the country’s active Popocatepetl volcano, without giving further details.

The government has a “yellow alert” out for activity from the nearby volcano, and warned on Tuesday that the column of smoke was blowing to the north-northwest and could bring ash over the capital.
