New Delhi: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced its commitment to support the implementation of the Pact for the Future, which is the UN’s initiative to address the most pressing needs of people around the world.

The UNDP’s offer is focused on accelerating sustainable development and financing by supporting 86 countries in implementing Integrated National Financing Frameworks to channel billions of dollars to key areas such as gender equality and nature. “Our global development support continues to provide a proven pathway out of conflict and instability by enabling millions of people to access essential services such as water, clean energy, and livelihoods,” said the UNDP Administrator at the UN Summit for Future Monday.

He iterated that the UNDP is also engaged in climate pledge implementation and will support the Global Digital Compact to advance digital transformation across the world. The Initiative will provide support to countries in developing inclusive digital infrastructure to expand access to essential services such as digital finance and healthcare. The UNDP is also assisting countries in building responsive, inclusive, and digital governance systems that foster stability and promote sustainable development.

The Pact for the Future is a call to renew a spirit of global inclusivity and address the pressing needs of those most impacted by climate change, poverty, inequality, and digital divides. The Initiative seeks to create a future where no one is left behind and to ensure that the benefits of sustainable development are shared by all people.
