A summit in Rome this week will harness the power of innovation to develop sustainable products, processes, and approaches to address current challenges in the three key areas of climate, health, and nutrition.
The summit, organised by the European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability (EIIS) and the United Nations’ International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), will include presentations, roundtables, and workshops, according to a press statement.
The summit will bring together key public, private, and civil society stakeholders and showcase companies and organisations working towards sustainability, highlighting how innovation can enhance rural development effectiveness and lead to improved incomes for small-scale farmers.
During the summit, IFAD leaders and experts will discuss the potential of innovation in improving food, agriculture, climate adaptation, and finance for rural communities.
According to the organisers, innovation can stimulate economic growth, increase productivity, and improve the quality of life for millions of people, and it is possible to build a more sustainable future for all by harnessing the powers of innovation.
