The Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) organized an event in Faisalabad on the occasion of International Women’s Day, focusing on the United Nations’ theme of ‘Inspire Inclusion’.

The event aimed to address the challenges faced by domestic workers and advocate for their inclusion in society. The event, titled ‘Inspire Inclusion’, was aimed at addressing the issues faced by domestic workers, particularly housemaids, in Pakistan. It included a range of speakers, including Naveed Walter, President of HRFP, and James Lal, HRFP worker. Other speakers included James Lal, who conducted various activities, including questioning-answering, learning-sharing, and making sure that the next generations of housemaids have access to education and skills development opportunities.

The event was significant as it provided a platform to raise awareness about the issues faced by domestic workers and the need for interventions to ensure their inclusion in society. The speakers highlighted the importance of empowering women, investing in women, equality of women, and participation of women in order to achieve a safer, healthier, and more equal world for all. The event also provided an opportunity for the public to reflect on the progress made in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Pakistan and the need for collective efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The HRFP’s statement emphasized the need for collective efforts to make a change in society and leave no one behind, including domestic workers, in the effort to achieve the 17 SDGs and Agenda 2030. The statement also expressed gratitude for the participation of domestic workers and housemaids in the event and their commitment to joint efforts for women’s rights.
