May 14 (Reuters) – Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces said on Thursday that search teams working in coordination with U.S. forces had found and recovered the body of a U.S. servicewoman who had been missing since May 2 in the Cap Draa area.
The armed forces added in a post on X that the body was located on May 12 at a rocky cliff site in the area, following intensive search operations.
Two U.S. service members taking part in African Lion joint military exercises were reported missing near Tan Tan in southern Morocco, U.S. and Moroccan officials said. The U.S. Army said on Sunday that one soldier’s body had been recovered near a cliff in Cap Draa.
