New Delhi: Congratulating US President-elect Donald Trump for his ‘historic’ victory, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Alok Kumar Wednesday expressed hopes that under Trump’s leadership, Hindus will be safe across the world. Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut among other BJP leaders shared celebratory posts on X.

The reactions poured in as the Republican leader inched his way to victory against his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, in the bitterly contested 2024 US elections.

“Alok Kumar today said that Trump had talked about the security of Hindu society and assured that under his leadership, there will be no attacks on Hindu society anywhere,” said Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

“We hope that under his leadership, Indo-US relations will be further strengthened, with our shared heritage and values of democracy, dignity of the individuals, and rule of law. Both countries will go ahead for global peace and prosperity. We congratulate and extend our best wishes for his historic victory,” he added, quoting Kumar.

Former BJP MP and senior party leader Harnath Singh Yadav posted a picture of Trump in a saffron kurta, alongside Elon Musk, on X.

“Trump in saffron, beside him Elon Musk. Trump got a clear majority. 90% of Indians have voted in favour of @realDonaldTrump. My heartiest congratulations to him for his splendid victory. #USAElection2024,” he posted.

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut shared the same post on X, calling it the “best meme on Twitter today” and congratulating Trump.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Ajay Sehrawat posted a cartoon on X, showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Trump sitting in a car, with the caption—“abki baar Trump sarkar”.

Speaking to media persons, BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul wished for Trump’s success, saying, “Today, Prime Minister Modi and Donald Trump’s friendship signifies the strong bond between India and America, which will only grow further if Trump wins.”

“Regarding Democrats, they opposed our Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, opposed our Article 370, and did not condemn the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and Canada. We want India and America’s friendship to strengthen even more,” she added.
