New Delhi: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Utsav Kumar as its new Country Director for Kazakhstan. Kumar assumed office on April 27.
Kumar will head up ADB operations in Kazakhstan and coordinate the bank’s partnership with the government and other stakeholders.
Kumar has extensive development experience, including more than 11 years at ADB. He previously served as the Deputy Country Director for Sri Lanka, where he led the development of client engagement and enhanced coordination of development partner.
He will work closely with the government, private sector, and other stakeholders to enhance the ADB’s partnership with Kazakhstan and support the country’s development priorities, the ADB said in a statement.
It added that Kumar is expected to continue ADB’s support for Kazakhstan in addressing the impacts of climate change, decarbonizing the economy, promoting inclusive economic growth, and strengthening governance.
