At the launch of 'Against Storytelling' and 'Treasurer of Piggy Banks' at Delhi's IHC, Vinod Shukla's poetry came to life, speaking directly to the reader.
Shukla's award comes close on the heels of the International Man Booker Prize won by Tomb of Sand, the English translation of Geetanjali Shree's Reit Samadhi, last year.
Shukla, who has won the Sahitya Akademi Award for Deewar Mein Ek Khidki Rahti Thi, says he got only Rs 1.35 lakh in the past 25 years from Vani Prakashan.
