In 2012, I wrote about the first surrendered Naxal to undergo reverse vasectomy and 'reclaim the right to fatherhood'. Last month, I learnt he still couldn’t bear a child.
By turning a blind eye to the snakes in his own backyard, Trudeau is setting the stage for a disaster of epic proportions for his country, his people, and the world at large.
In Episode 1544 of CutTheClutter, Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta looks at some top economists pointing to the pitfalls of ‘currency nationalism’ with data from 1991 to 2004.
While there are patrolling points (PP) 10, 11, 12, 12A and 13 in the Depsang Plains, the patrol in the region Monday was carried out to only one point as decided by India and China.
While we talk much about our military, we don’t put our national wallet where our mouth is. Nobody is saying we should double our defence spending, but current declining trend must be reversed.
Communism is evil, and communists are evil incarnate. Maoist leaders must have felt supremely powerful, almost like a creator, in deciding to snatch away fatherhood from so many young men.
Events in history are witness to the fact that at least one generation suffers because of any organised, prolonged violence against the state or between states.
I am seeing the “Naxal” movement since my school days in Kerala, nearly seven decades ago. I am yet to see a concerted movement in the media exhorting the Naxals (late Maoists) to give up violence and join the mainstream. (it was done in Kerala in the 70s)
Tail piece: In the same vein, I am yet to see a public appeal to the “protesting” farmers to resolve the issue through talks. If for decades the media and “experts” continue to make elected Governments the villain in the play, how can suffering be reduced?
Not sure why police are to be blamed if they are only helping in reversing a vasectomy. After all there is a possibility the reversing operation may work. The police haven’t compelled them to undergo the first operation or are in no other way responsible for it. They are only trying to help by enabling the surrendered Maoists to become fathers and lead a normal life. Btw China from where Mao hails followed the same policy on a far bigger scale.
In addition to blaming the maoist leaders, the doctors and the police officers, I am sure a big part of the blame also lies with the individuals themselves for joining the Naxals in the first place. Why is no mention being made of this simple fact?
I am honestly unaware of how this happens. Are they swayed by the revolutionary ideologies so join them? Or are they forced at gunpoint? I tend to think it’s the former..
