Present situation reminds of the attitude of Britain, France towards Hitler just before the commencement of world war II. They yielded miles, when Hitler wanted inches. That did not avoid the war. There can be no doubt that India alone has to face the burden of resisting China at its borders. Western countries won’t even supply weapons free of cost as US did to Pakistan.

India has always maintained its own independent stance even when USA vs Russia was at its peak. India is too big to simply side with one side. But on the military front, India is maintaining a balance between Russia and USA, and its also increasing relations with France and Israel.
