I have studied in a Central University and there were enough professors of OBC/SC/ST. Similarly my sister is studying central law university, same for her. I want to understand from what is the source of Mr. Rahul Kumar’s statement?
1. Even 12 years after the implementation of OBC reservation for faculty members, there is not a single professor from the community in most of the 40 central universities in India.
2. Most of the IITs do not have a single professor from the SC/ST community.
Seats for admission in government college’s should be based on talent not on general /sc/st/obc category basis.for iits/niit/iiit admission students are giving their childhood.so its total injustice with talent government should think of it.
✔ The basic criteria defined to be eligible as EWS(Upper Class) is ridiculous. Not many checked the criteria mentioned with the data available with NSSO to determine how many fall in that section. Is it because upper caste Weaker Sections are little affluent than none upper caste, policy makers have tailored to suite them?
✔ EWS is an exercise to emancipation the remaining sections of Upper class who are not on par with the rest of upper class.
✔ If one apply EWS Criteria to whole population of India, close to 70%. – 90% households are in that criteria on four parameters. Shall we discard all these reservations based on caste and go for this EWS? This is better option, maximum benefit for all.

It’s unfortunate to raise such political issues. We had Reservation for long and INDIA is only nation where Reservation is done on caste lines rather than on economic front. Why affluent from reserve category should milk the benefits meant for poor. Second completing PHD is a herculean task where one has to invest considerable time,energy and effort to complete it. My wife completed in 10 years though she was engaged in teaching but dedication paid off. Second the reserve category should be given benefit in basic education and for higher studies they should compete and get seat on.metit. Respect is for talent and knowledge not degrees though it is a gateway not guarantee. When merit is compromised then why blame others. When getting lower marks fetches a seat in reputed college ignoring high scores then such low score students are bound to feel inferior it’s better govt should add extra seats for reserve category students and let them complete against themselves for the seat. True man, Iam preparing for gate and other exams for 2 years and every time I get away with 2&4 marks and all of this to get a job. At times I get so depressed that despite studying so much Iam still far, don’t know what to do.

Due to reservation policy in Tamilnadu I could not get MSC seat in government college in spite of being ninth rank holder in BSC.in 1975. Biased reports will not fetch you opportunities. One needs to work hard like I had to do for last 40 years more TI COME UP as I did not belong to reserved caste.
In india the upper caste is so pervasive that there is none to question their dominance. Indian right and left both belong uppercaste. The people who does the the science as well as those perpetuate superstitions belong to the same uppercaste. Even noble prize will not get you into indian institutions as a faculty, you need noble birth than noble prize. Because indian institute select for thier royal blood than scientific contribution, they are of poor quality that even after 50 years of independence india is yet to get a noble prize of its own.
Reservation was never and never will be a solution..A person who got everything through reservation will never know the very hard work in getting a seat in IITs and IIM and so it’s obvious that they will drop their study as they have never sweat during their preparation.. Here is a question that after 72 years of independence India did nothing to promote SC, ST, OBC ? Why is the author giving drop out stats of SC/ST/OBC students enrolled for Phd programs. The PhD programs are research programs and are very difficult to compete. It is one thing to get admission into a PhD program and quite another to complete it. The SC/ST/OBC candidates due to relaxed admission criteria might find the going tough in a PhD program. Instead of giving examples of discrimination due to which SC/ST/OBC drop out rate is high, the author hypotheses that the high drop out rate among the SC/ST/OBC PhD students might be due to discrimination. If you don’t submit your assignment or copy your assignment, your professor is going to penalise you irrespective of your caste or religion as merit criteria to pass the course cannot be relaxed. Baseless articles such as this that are not objective don’t bring out the problems of SC/ST/OBC students at all.

There should be a change in the mind set of upper caste students. The faculty should also focus on such issues redress the issue. The management should also find out the reason for such drop outs. What a load of BS… What is OBC??? OBC, SC, ST aren’t one group. There is casteism even within these groups. Eg- OBC Yadav’s consider themselves superior to others like Kurmis in bihar and UP. They gobble up most of the reservation and fill positions with their fellow Yadav’s. In Maharashtra Mahars who are SC consider themselves superior to maangs and bhangis and they gobble most of the benefit of reservation. Same in Tamil Nadu where paraiyars who belong to SC discriminates arundhatiyar who are also SC. Jatavs in UP are dominant among scheduled castes and have more political bargaining over other SC. Coming to the part of SC/ST in higher education, many sc/st drop out it school or don’t continue studies due to various resons mostly financial. Instead of focussing on college why not focuss at school level?? Caste system in my country is alive only because of 3 reasons.
1) To win the elections by vote bank politics by political parties by pooling people on the basis of their caste.

Quoting the above text from the article I would like to emphasize it’s genuine nature. I was a student of sociology in the department of social sciences (Masters program) at the University of Hyderabad during the years 1985-87. My class had 30 students of which 15 belonged to the SC, ST, BC communities. By the end of the 2nd semester not a single student from the reserved communities was ready to continue. The extent of caste based harrasment was such that, even I was made a victim for supporting and encouraging these students. Favourites were picked from the upper caste section and promoted academically. Even the faculty were not spared. I could see the extent of discrimination very clearly. I was told very clearly by some of the faculty members and fellow students that I would have to stop supporting and encouraging those students otherwise I would face the consequences. And I did become a victim of the upper caste system’s fury which led to my exit from academics and entry into social activism.
Such a sad state of affairs.
Reservation system in India is the most misused concept by everybody (both General & Reserved categories). In reality, most educated person possess the caste feeling in India. When there is nothing in a general category person, caste feeling is the only weapon that he uses to differentiate humans and feel his ego is elevated (false prestige). Sadly, reserved class person also gets into his head that he belongs to weaker section and feel inferior. This mindset issue is the main crucifying factor for inferiority complex amongst OBC, SC & ST categories. This affects their emotional well being and make them to give up. From politician to school student use this caste stigma and create discrimination at every stage. One should always be practical and focus on self improvement and be practical always. Govt should abolish reservations and encourage merit. Remove caste category in school records. Things will gradually fall in place.
What about those who are deserving candidates from general category but do not get the seat just because some undeserving candidate from the reservation quota has to be given that. Why there is no hype about how the upper caste students commit suicide due to not getting admission just because he secured 0.25 marks less than the cut off but his lower caste counterpart had it on scoring 10 marks less than him??? But no one would talk about it because upper castes students suicide cases would not lure the vote bank and sympathy to their party.
Please also write for the upper caste students who can not think for only admission in IITs because of their financial condition. In many vilage of west UP where I reside found that the economically and educationally general caste are very very poor.
I guess the position of educational institutions to be Castiest and Elitist is very true . It is common form of discrimination there always , as here there is no more moral supporter left for those students to relay and lead life on. Students form groups on basis of what positions they are in may be Upper caste , Religion, Financial Conditions, The super Elite background different from others .
I guess all these ill practices will only stop when we teach these students at there very young age, their foundations of Being a Human than a man of a particular caste, position, financial elitism. Also The students participation from STs should be encouraged by making awareness in those regions where they are not as most these people try to lead a isolated life but due to various economic factors end up in low side of society. Also Institutions must actively participate in ensuring there should be no segregation of students on basis of various baseless divisions.

I’m a SC and I feel I’m qualified to answer this. First of all, due to stupid marking system students who are sub-par are allowed to join educational institutions and similar is the case with government jobs. Caste discrimination has always been there and it’s not going to end in another millenia, it’ll stay as long as there’s Hinduism, so no point wasting time on it. When sub-par people gain entry and see people who worked hard to gain entry, they come to realisation that it was the worst decision of their lives. When one enters an already plagued system and that too with a concession, it opens a whole pandora box. Government should keep reservation in place but it needs to keep marks same for all. That way only the bright ones will be able to continue.

The reason for their dropouts is the reservation even the top students struggle to survive in the institutions like IIT . If you have low scores and still get to join those colleges because of reservation then of course you will feel the pressure. The “nexus” mentioned in the article is not supported by facts. The data presented is for PhD programs in which reservation was started pretty late. Being a PhD graduate myself, I believe if after a Bachelors and a Masters degree, student of any caste is not able to clear the PhD entrance, he/she doesn’t deserve admission. At one point reservation has to stop so that merit can prevail. At the same time, I believe for the Faculty hiring there can be reservations because of the lack of transparency in the process.
Lower castes are never excluded. We had an SC in our friend circle in our coaching institute. I got up rank than him in competitive exams but he was selected and I was not. He took seat in the college in which his father was principal!
Anyways you will never get the benefit of reservation. Only these few families and their generations will take the benefits. You will only get poor quality services because the candidates who got low rank in competitive exams will give you services instead of the ones who are better at it.
Have you considered that it may not ‘upper caste’ nexus. Maybe it is that these ‘upper caste’ students face such cut throat compitition from a very young age, due to significantly higher cutoffs, that they are used to putting in the extra work and they end up getting selected. This writer is so lazy that other than IIT gandhinagar he has not given any other anecdotal instance of discrimination, further he has just cited what hrm has said in LS, his biggest contention is reserved category kids are subjected to harrowing experience and thus the dropout, but no where he has mentioned how many or what percentage of students/faculty dropout every year. Even the percentage data mentioned for iit dropouts has more general category kids, so what now. Why has he not mentioned that reserved category candidates are no good to even bear the rigor of courses, exams and like as has been cited by various committees of institutions. These bloody hypocrites are lazy as a bean bag and their biggest problem is they feel entitled without knowing that it is a sin to expect luxury when laziness is your forte. All these people should take a walk of shame along the path lined by big “elephants”. And no one should succumb to their false lamentation, I have a colleague in my office who has threatened me thrice with a false case under SC/ST Act, and my fault was I tried to apprise my superior about his ways at work. If 48 per cent of students dropping out of the IITs and over 62.6 per cent from IIMs are from the SC, ST and OBC categories then remaining obviously are from general ie. Upper class, 52 per cent from IIT and 48 per cent from IIM. Then how come these are discriminated. We are all seeing everything from the lens we were made to wear. I think we should all discard these lens and thereby identities which blocks our growth. I suggest we should ignore and never mention our castes in any of forms in education. We should discard it. Mind which is blocking us to see everyone is equal. We are indeed equal. But some are saying they were discriminated but some other feel they too. In total we all in their own sense discriminated. The points highlighted in this article are inundating indeed. But the presence of more number of people from unreserved category can’t be termed as ‘hegemony’. Because most of them have reached their corresponding positions after a lot of perseverance. Those who get jobs/admissions after scoring comparatively low are looked down upon. It is a common idea that the reserved ones haven’t worked equally hard (although they might have). Lower cut-offs and reservation cause discrimination and this discrimination forces them to quit. And due to thier lower frequency in deemed universities, we want reservation for them. It is a kind of vicious cycle.

What can we for reserved categories if they are not able to sustain in such institutions ? Well, we cannot do anything and the reason is this that , these reserved category students have got used of getting for free and they don’t want to do anything in their life . One thing I don’t get with these days with news portal like The Print that why they don’t have proper journalists and not some amateur writing their opinion as facts. I have studied in a Central University and there were enough professors of OBC/SC/ST. Similarly my sister is studying central law university, same for her. I want to understand from what is the source of Mr. Rahul Kumar’s statement?
1. Even 12 years after the implementation of OBC reservation for faculty members, there is not a single professor from the community in most of the 40 central universities in India.
2. Most of the IITs do not have a single professor from the SC/ST community.
Seats for admission in government college’s should be based on talent not on general /sc/st/obc category basis.for iits/niit/iiit admission students are giving their childhood.so its total injustice with talent government should think of it.
✔ The basic criteria defined to be eligible as EWS(Upper Class) is ridiculous. Not many checked the criteria mentioned with the data available with NSSO to determine how many fall in that section. Is it because upper caste Weaker Sections are little affluent than none upper caste, policy makers have tailored to suite them?
✔ EWS is an exercise to emancipation the remaining sections of Upper class who are not on par with the rest of upper class.
✔ If one apply EWS Criteria to whole population of India, close to 70%. – 90% households are in that criteria on four parameters. Shall we discard all these reservations based on caste and go for this EWS? This is better option, maximum benefit for all.

✔ We need to change your mindset: All major political parties are controlled by Upoer Class, there is no set in Party agenda setting. Be assertive within the parties, challenge leaders on issues related to inequalities.
✔ Weaponize vote: Raise awareness about value of vote, for this slogan must be “Our Votes, Our Representatives”. Convert numbers to votes, vote to seats, seats to Power. OBCs are close to 50% their representation in parliament ranges from 10% – 22%. during (1962 -2014) .

inorder to avoid the discrimination supreme court justice has suggested that all candidates should be general like USA and all other developed countries. No one can be humiliated to other about their cast.
It’s unfortunate to raise such political issues. We had Reservation for long and INDIA is only nation where Reservation is done on caste lines rather than on economic front. Why affluent from reserve category should milk the benefits meant for poor. Second completing PHD is a herculean task where one has to invest considerable time,energy and effort to complete it. My wife completed in 10 years though she was engaged in teaching but dedication paid off. Second the reserve category should be given benefit in basic education and for higher studies they should compete and get seat on.metit. Respect is for talent and knowledge not degrees though it is a gateway not guarantee. When merit is compromised then why blame others. When getting lower marks fetches a seat in reputed college ignoring high scores then such low score students are bound to feel inferior it’s better govt should add extra seats for reserve category students and let them complete against themselves for the seat. I hope such steps would infuse confidence among them.

I’m glad you brought it up , I suppose people are failing to realise the previledge they have right now… Crimes against st , sc communities still exist and are on a rise , more than 50% people in BPL belong to sc or St , how do you expect them to compete with those having everything at their disposal… Reservation is still important , moreover there is reservation for under EWS and a income barrier in OBC … It’s important to recognise that the problem still exists and 80% comment section ignores the bigger picture in which 80-90% of population of same community half so less representation . True man, Iam preparing for gate and other exams for 2 years and every time I get away with 2&4 marks and all of this to get a job. At times I get so depressed that despite studying so much Iam still far, don’t know what to do.
I personally don’t have any problem learning from a lower caste teacher if he/she is qualified enough.

Due to reservation policy in Tamilnadu I could not get MSC seat in government college in spite of being ninth rank holder in BSC.in 1975. Biased reports will not fetch you opportunities. One needs to work hard like I had to do for last 40 years more TI COME UP as I did not belong to reserved caste.
In india the upper caste is so pervasive that there is none to question their dominance. Indian right and left both belong uppercaste. The people who does the the science as well as those perpetuate superstitions belong to the same uppercaste. Even noble prize will not get you into indian institutions as a faculty, you need noble birth than noble prize. Because indian institute select for thier royal blood than scientific contribution, they are of poor quality that even after 50 years of independence india is yet to get a noble prize of its own.
Reservation was never and never will be a solution..A person who got everything through reservation will never know the very hard work in getting a seat in IITs and IIM and so it’s obvious that they will drop their study as they have never sweat during their preparation.. Here is a question that after 72 years of independence India did nothing to promote SC, ST, OBC ? Why is the author giving drop out stats of SC/ST/OBC students enrolled for Phd programs. The PhD programs are research programs and are very difficult to compete. It is one thing to get admission into a PhD program and quite another to complete it. The SC/ST/OBC candidates due to relaxed admission criteria might find the going tough in a PhD program. Instead of giving examples of discrimination due to which SC/ST/OBC drop out rate is high, the author hypotheses that the high drop out rate among the SC/ST/OBC PhD students might be due to discrimination. If you don’t submit your assignment or copy your assignment, your professor is going to penalise you irrespective of your caste or religion as merit criteria to pass the course cannot be relaxed. Baseless articles such as this that are not objective don’t bring out the problems of SC/ST/OBC students at all.

There should be a change in the mind set of upper caste students. The faculty should also focus on such issues redress the issue. The management should also find out the reason for such drop outs. There is no use in having a reservation policy without ensuring that it reaches the needy which will only help in the long run for the upliftment of the oppressed classes.
Well the bench asked a very good question. Can any one explain till when we will provide reservation on basis of caste and religion ? What a load of BS… What is OBC??? OBC, SC, ST aren’t one group. There is casteism even within these groups. Eg- OBC Yadav’s consider themselves superior to others like Kurmis in bihar and UP. They gobble up most of the reservation and fill positions with their fellow Yadav’s. In Maharashtra Mahars who are SC consider themselves superior to maangs and bhangis and they gobble most of the benefit of reservation. Same in Tamil Nadu where paraiyars who belong to SC discriminates arundhatiyar who are also SC. Jatavs in UP are dominant among scheduled castes and have more political bargaining over other SC. Coming to the part of SC/ST in higher education, many sc/st drop out it school or don’t continue studies due to various resons mostly financial. Instead of focussing on college why not focuss at school level?? But ofcourse most of these articles are writeen by “upper caste Liberals” or agenda driven “Dalit activists” who just want to find casteism everywhere. Caste system in my country is alive only because of 3 reasons.
1) To win the elections by vote bank politics by political parties by pooling people on the basis of their caste.
2) Caste based reservations.

Quoting the above text from the article I would like to emphasize it’s genuine nature. I was a student of sociology in the department of social sciences (Masters program) at the University of Hyderabad during the years 1985-87. My class had 30 students of which 15 belonged to the SC, ST, BC communities. By the end of the 2nd semester not a single student from the reserved communities was ready to continue. The extent of caste based harrasment was such that, even I was made a victim for supporting and encouraging these students. Favourites were picked from the upper caste section and promoted academically. Even the faculty were not spared. I could see the extent of discrimination very clearly. I was told very clearly by some of the faculty members and fellow students that I would have to stop supporting and encouraging those students otherwise I would face the consequences. And I did become a victim of the upper caste system’s fury which led to my exit from academics and entry into social activism.
Such a sad state of affairs.
Reservation system in India is the most misused concept by everybody (both General & Reserved categories). In reality, most educated person possess the caste feeling in India. When there is nothing in a general category person, caste feeling is the only weapon that he uses to differentiate humans and feel his ego is elevated (false prestige). Sadly, reserved class person also gets into his head that he belongs to weaker section and feel inferior. This mindset issue is the main crucifying factor for inferiority complex amongst OBC, SC & ST categories. This affects their emotional well being and make them to give up. From politician to school student use this caste stigma and create discrimination at every stage. One should always be practical and focus on self improvement and be practical always. Govt should abolish reservations and encourage merit. Remove caste category in school records. Things will gradually fall in place.
What about those who are deserving candidates from general category but do not get the seat just because some undeserving candidate from the reservation quota has to be given that. Why there is no hype about how the upper caste students commit suicide due to not getting admission just because he secured 0.25 marks less than the cut off but his lower caste counterpart had it on scoring 10 marks less than him??? But no one would talk about it because upper castes students suicide cases would not lure the vote bank and sympathy to their party.

It is common form of discrimination there always , as here there is no more moral supporter left for those students to relay and lead life on. I’m a SC and I feel I’m qualified to answer this. First of all, due to stupid marking system students who are sub-par are allowed to join educational institutions and similar is the case with government jobs. Caste discrimination has always been there and it’s not going to end in another millenia, it’ll stay as long as there’s Hinduism, so no point wasting time on it. When sub-par people gain entry and see people who worked hard to gain entry, they come to realisation that it was the worst decision of their lives. When one enters an already plagued system and that too with a concession, it opens a whole pandora box. Government should keep reservation in place but it needs to keep marks same for all. That way only the bright ones will be able to continue.

The reason for their dropouts is the reservation even the top students struggle to survive in the institutions like IIT . The “nexus” mentioned in the article is not supported by facts. The data presented is for PhD programs in which reservation was started pretty late. Being a PhD graduate myself, I believe if after a Bachelors and a Masters degree, student of any caste is not able to clear the PhD entrance, he/she doesn’t deserve admission. At one point reservation has to stop so that merit can prevail. At the same time, I believe for the Faculty hiring there can be reservations because of the lack of transparency in the process.
Lower castes are never excluded. We had an SC in our friend circle in our coaching institute. I got up rank than him in competitive exams but he was selected and I was not. He took seat in the college in which his father was principal!
Anyways you will never get the benefit of reservation. Only these few families and their generations will take the benefits. You will only get poor quality services because the candidates who got low rank in competitive exams will give you services instead of the ones who are better at it.
Give obc sc st reservation 100 percent and then wonder why talent goes to America.

Have you considered that it may not ‘upper caste’ nexus. Maybe it is that these ‘upper caste’ students face such cut throat compitition from a very young age, due to significantly higher cutoffs, that they are used to putting in the extra work and they end up getting selected. Please do not summarily dismiss their efforts and attribute their success to their caste.

This writer is so lazy that other than IIT gandhinagar he has not given any other anecdotal instance of discrimination, further he has just cited what hrm has said in LS, his biggest contention is reserved category kids are subjected to harrowing experience and thus the dropout, but no where he has mentioned how many or what percentage of students/faculty dropout every year. If 48 per cent of students dropping out of the IITs and over 62.6 per cent from IIMs are from the SC, ST and OBC categories then remaining obviously are from general ie. Upper class, 52 per cent from IIT and 48 per cent from IIM. Then how come these are discriminated. We are all seeing everything from the lens we were made to wear. I think we should all discard these lens and thereby identities which blocks our growth. I suggest we should ignore and never mention our castes in any of forms in education. We should discard it. Mind which is blocking us to see everyone is equal. We are indeed equal. But some are saying they were discriminated but some other feel they too. In total we all in their own sense discriminated. But it is time now to should focus on reservation for Economically weaker section instead of cate and religions.
I can understand the scenerio, but important thing is, its not only that the sc st or obc candidate is having an issue of discrimination that’s why they are leaving, some might be . But my friends the thing is also in the way how you have entered through a entrance level exam means a lot, for eg:- if you are getting a seat at a very low rank it means what u might not have studied thoroughly right, the subjects needed and u also know these subjects are the basics for the course which they are persuing, iam a doctor even physics comes in mbbs too and if u have a good knowledge of that u can go through course curriculum very easily. But if you wont, you will struggle really hard and i have seen this, thats why im saying all this, so please dont blame and generalize this topic only on cast discrimination, some where we are also the one who are responsible for our own outcome, every coin has a two sides.
The points highlighted in this article are inundating indeed. But the presence of more number of people from unreserved category can’t be termed as ‘hegemony’. Because most of them have reached their corresponding positions after a lot of perseverance. Those who get jobs/admissions after scoring comparatively low are looked down upon. It is a common idea that the reserved ones haven’t worked equally hard (although they might have). Lower cut-offs and reservation cause discrimination and this discrimination forces them to quit. And due to thier lower frequency in deemed universities, we want reservation for them. It is a kind of vicious cycle.
Do one thing reserve all seats of these people and we will sit home and do nothing , coz you people even after getting so much benefits and quota and till playing the viticm card .if the reservation didn’t do any good to you people for so long then it nvr will , i have seen girl studying with me ,they are like humhari toh seats reserved hai thoda sa parhega and its our and these are the girls who belong to high standard society and enjoying reservation and me till struggling and didn’t get any opportunity and which further heightenen my frustrations towards this reservation ….. I too became mentally unstable when people scoring less then me get selected when i even didn’t get admsn in university with 77% then i too should cry for reservation and play viticm card , reservation is not the solution ok give them free education free stuff and scholarships and all but cracking exams and job should be fair and genuine,,,, for how much long this spoon feeding will take place and till they will cry , this happened that happened this that just stop it now ????????
What can we for reserved categories if they are not able to sustain in such institutions ? Well, we cannot do anything and the reason is this that , these reserved category students have got used of getting for free and they don’t want to do anything in their life . There are people in my institute too who are from reserved category and they hardly like to study , leaving those 20-25% students. That’s it!!!
Even in my locality there are people from unreserved category who only look for setting to take govt job and two of them got in it too..And Mandiro ka aarakshan par kya bolu bina keesi exam k pujari bane baithe h aur EWS ka cut off tou OBC k barabar hee jaa raha h feer unke saath kyun nahi ho raha h discrimination?waise bhi aarakshan isiliye nahi h kee Eklavya kamjor h isiliye h kyunki Dronacharya baithe h system me angutha kaatne k liye jou jaat dekh kar discrimination karte h .aur Kalaram temple 1930 me huya padhna kaise Ambedkar ko Mandir se bahar fekwa diye tumlog aur 1930 me hee Mahad satyagraha huya jab Paani nahi peene diya gaya Taalab se ..tab jaakar 1932 me Poona pact huya Gandhi aur Ambedkar k beech

You can’t generalise after observing few students. There are upper caste students as well who don’t do any good, then can I say all of them are same?
Sustainability, Goddamn it. The discrimination showed by upper caste people doesn’t make us sustainable. You form groups of caste and doesn’t let lower caste people to talk to you and study with you.
Well said… Actually I don’t understand one thing that even after getting in such prestigious institutions on the basis of reserved quota, if they’re not able to continue their studies, it’s their fault.. not the system’s.
Yes even very rich SC/ ST used to get scholarship even in 60s…Leave it.but their 50%mark should not be equated to 60 % of others
When meritorious SC/ST/OBC candidates became available, then they are mentally tortured and ineligible general candidate s are given backdoor entery to same. I am facing similar situation.
I would have been very happy if the gentleman who made such comments backed his observations with reliable data instead of loose brainless comments.he seems to suggest that laziness and indifference is a congenital quality among scs and other marginalized groups.one can only anticipate what kind of caste based monster he will become if he gets an opportunity to harass them.many are the cases where these “scholarly”proffessors ventilate their spleen on marginalized students because they can’t defy the government order.let them stew in their own soup.they should be dusted periodically to wear off the biases.
Most of the SC and st students are facing discrimination and restricted opportunities from those so called upper caste people which affects their mental health adversely. Those students are ragged the most in various colleges. Upper caste people unite themselves and try to suppress these low caste people. Only you are speaking about those rich people in these communities which are very less, who won’t study. These UC people always try to keep those comunites below them.
what about upper caste ews(economically weak section?)
