Why are the dietary choices of Muslims often perceived as personal choices, while vegetarianism practised by Hindus and other communities is seen as discriminatory?

To all the people debating .. how does it matter TO YOU if some company starts an extra service for vegetarians? Are they saying that the company won’t deliver non-veg at all? No. But even if that is the case (which is not), then you order from swiggy. Or any other similar company. Zomato will automatically lose market. Simple.
Why give importance to such trivial issues? It’s somebody’s company, they can run it the way they want. They are just trying to tap the market which none of the other similar companies thought of. And by criticizing them, would the section who still dislikes to be in non-veg restaurant start going there?
Think of it with this example- if you don’t like brinjal and you are being served brinjal by elders at home – would you start liking it? Similarly, there are dharmas who don’t promote certain food habits (because of the spread of bacteria – like in Jainism – it’s their belief ) you can’t call that discrimination. They don’t even eat curd made regular way. They have their own way of making it. So would you call it discrimination too? Imagine – discrimination with curd .. lol. That would be so silly of US to think that way when there’s so much we can do with our time. Be productive and stop spreading hate. Life is beautiful

When did you become the representative of Muslim ? What about Muslim being killed in name of fake cow slaughter? And this issue is not even about Hindu and Muslim. This is about small Indian minority of upper castes trying to push a narrative. Next you will say vegetarians should not allow non-vegetarian people to stay in same building… then may be not same town ? Where to draw the line ? All these vegetarians aspire to send kids to cow eating countries in west. Their concept of purity melts like ghee at prospect of rubbing shoulder with white folks. India is not a vegetarian country. It is small population of upper castes who are vegetarians. And pushing the concept of purity is nothing but violence.
When you just don’t want to eat non veg as a dietary choice, you don’t want non veg in your plate. That makes sense. But when you think if anything that you eat might have had somehow kept in same bag as non veg item makes it impure/ against your belief system, that’s pure casteism.
People rent out places on dietary choices. There are societies that don’t allow people having certain choices to reside. Even if the dress code is not used, their bag colours are going to cause day to day problems.
West is embracing veganism. Dairy is as bad as meat eating.
The concept is discriminatory for two reasons:
1. The moment you add “pure” to any set, the excluded set becomes impure by implication.
2. Choice of food preference must be at personal level only. Public display if it is against the concept of “Fraternity” included in our constitution and so conveniently neglected by all of us.
This development is a result of government interfering in food choices of citizens – like banning beef, ministers discrediting eating non-veg etc. This rhetoric must stop.
And as a pure vegetarian, I find it nonsensical to say dietary preferences of Muslims or other meat eaters are not criticized. Segregation of utensils, declining meat eaters houses, etc. I have seen it with my eyes.
Yes, my preferences also made people uncomfortable (mostly the not eating egg part) but I have never been discriminated because of it unlike the people I stated. And I am relieved every time I can find pure veg restaurants and options but Iam well aware that dietary preferences are an easy way to indirectly discriminate against people.
