After a news report on Arvind Kejriwal getting a large official residence in Chandigarh, Punjab Kesari has alleged that the AAP govt is using agencies to target it. Four different premises owned by the group were raided between 10 January and 15 January.

In past 2 months, a kabbadi player was shot dead at a tournament, a gang opened fire at a wedding killing 2 guests, a shopkeeper was killed for refusing to give in to extortion.

Since the formation of AAP govt in 2022, several senior officers have often been kept without postings for months, for reasons which have never been clearly spelt out.

Punjab BJP chief has cited CAG report to suggest state disaster relief fund had Rs 9,041 cr as on 31 March, 2023. Chief secy says the amount ‘cannot be used at the drop of a hat’.

What should be of concern is other states following suit and enacting separate laws to suit the political environment of respective states citing the Punjab bill as a precedent.

The development was announced by Forum of Resident Doctors, Punjab. Over 2,000 students of govt medical colleges in Amritsar, Faridkot & Patiala had been protesting since 7 May.
