Nowadays it is fashionable to proclaim oneself as “TEDx Speaker”. LinkedIn and other platforms are flooded with such TEDx speakers. Also, pretty much everyone is a published author nowadays. Amd the “books” published are just gibberish. Utter waste of time.
These TEDx people, most of whom are also published “authors”, are useless fellows who bring zero value to the table. They hardly have any solid skill-set or even the analytical mindset to work problems through.
Only thing they are good at is public speaking. Unfortunately, it hardly carries you far enough in your career – unless, of course, you are a politician.
I have come across personality architects and coaches in my professional journey. They charge companies big bucks but bring zero value. It’s actually a fraud.
The only thing these people are good at is talking. When they talk you feel like listening forever.
Does it bring about any change in you? No.
Does it provide the professional with a new point of view? No.
Does it help the professional perform any better at his job? No.
Does it improve the professional’s personal life? No.
There are numerous ways to earn money. But some people add value to our lives. Others just make money off us.
I would discourage everyone from seeking out these so called “personality coaches”.
