INLD invited regional leaders like Mulayam, Mamata and Nitish to mark birth anniversary of ex-deputy PM Devi Lal, but only P.S. Badal, Farooq Abdullah and K.C. Tyagi attended.
Proposal will be made at rally on 25 Sept, which leaders such Mulayam, Deve Gowda & Farooq Abdullah are expected to attend. Also invited are Mamata, Pawar & Jayant Chaudhary.
Chautala was serving a 10-year prison term in a teacher recruitment scam case. He was released under the Delhi government order to decongest jails in view of the Covid pandemic.
While the INLD is no longer represented in the assembly, the same can’t be said of the Chautalas, one of the most prominent dynasties of Indian politics.
India’s foreign policy today is driven less by Western alignment or global liberalism and more by domestic political imperatives — economic, ideological, and electoral.
