India’s ‘Army dream’ has spawned a new organised military coaching sector in tier-2 and -3 cities like Meerut, Sikar, and Rohtak. Promise defence lifestyle, ‘officer-like qualities’, and selection in NDA, CDS, AFCAT.
Nick Jonas is not trying to modernise the mangalsutra, but his gesture shows that choices can be equal. If commitment must be flaunted, it need not be gendered.

Institutions like Subharti, which I have seen, help youngsters find confidence….. beneficent even if they don’t join military.
Small observation though – this training institute doesn’t quite seek to indoctrinate “supreme sacrifice” kind of mindsets. In acknowledging that volunteers for military service do so despite the omnipresent mortal risk, the aim remains – shaping and sharpening the young.
