Standing up to America is usually not a personal risk for a leader in India. Any suggestions of foreign pressure unites India behind who they see as leading them in that fight.
You have said in your article that “it was the first Nobel to a non-white person”…It is misleading because the first Nobel prize awarded to a non- white person was to Rabindranath Tagore in 1913.
There is no particular greatness or usefulness if woman are so much in involved in STEM. Doesnt mean woman should be barred from stem. but cant stand this stupid discussion again and again.this article is very deceptive and insults a great indian. If he showed discrimination against who are u to judge him?? Male or female whatever, contribution to science is what matters… Such sexist mad females..

Everybody knows different types of colours but only one colour is present in this world that colour is white.
Every object contain some wavelength that wavelength only decide to which Colour appearance on world
So example the leaf has green colour ,the sunlight comes on Earth that is white colours
the leaf absorb the white colour emitted only green because it have chlorophyll
In this case ex every object some personality contains that will emitted in the world
When this article talks about Soviet physicists Grigory Landsberg and Leonid Mandelstam they might be recognised Raman effect first but they were not the first ones to publish. If they would have published their work and even though it were not recognised then they might be called as “original discoverer” not when the greatness of it came to know to the world. It was first Indian scientist who received noble prize so let’s honour him and not the controversies. Because there are so many cases of injustice about Indian scientist but world doesn’t talks about them.
Absolutely correct. Controversy wasn’t there and shouldn’t be discussed in the report. Let’s honor the great discovery by Professor C. V. Raman – an Indian scientist.

The article mentions First Nobel in Physics..

The Raman effect was un believes that might be interested in the science.
It is “Sir” CV Raman. You are a media house. Have some respect.
