Crowded cities are rich because there is greater division of labour. The extent of the division of labour depends on the size of the market, wrote Sauvik Chakraverti in 2002.
With 20.2 percent of its total loans in default by the end of last year, Bangladesh had the weakest banking system in Asia. Despite reforms, it will take time to recover.
Bihar is blessed with a land more fertile for revolutions than any in India. Why has it fallen so far behind then? Constant obsession with politics is at the root of its destruction.
For every woman who dies, 30 to 50 women suffer injury, infection, or disease. Pregnancy-related complications are among the leading causes of death and disability for women age 15-49 in developing countries.
Dear Rahiba, i started reading the article to get some important important message for risks for mother. In some areas you had mentioned about govt initiative. But your article is giving very limited information on the risk.
It suppose to give 5 risk for mother but after 4th it’s about babies risk.
About the first risk it’s lack of nutritious food leads to hemorrhage or bleeding. You had mentioned it very nicely how iron consumption can help in avoiding such circumstances. But there are multiple other reason for bleeding. A mother who is also healthy may develop bleeding after delivery.
Infection: it not only related to poor hygiene or a midwife’s knowledge. Do you know 60%of normal deliveries are done by nurses cum Midwives. Infection could be introduced by lack of hand hygiene practice, poor sanitation at hospital and non detection of possible infection like syphilis which is asymptomatic.
Pregnancy preparedness could have mentioned about avoiding early pregnancy e.g. Before 21years too, identifying delivery place and Family preparedness equally important. It should have given insight for birth preparedness. It also encourage to identify the birth companion who will accompany the mother during delivery, which can reduce chances of c-section by 21%.
Regular antenatal checkups also sometime cannt avert development of risk but it may help in early identification of pregnancy like pre eclampsia and Eclampsia.
I wish an educated mother should given a correct information through nonthreatening way, so that its easier for her to plan and go ahead with safe mother hood.
My comments will never end.
But make sure you check with standard guideline other sources to give simple msgs to every parent or the couple who is planning.
