This is why other British colonies also got independence after WWII. We would have gotten independence together with all other British colonies even if Gandhi had not been around.
It appears that the Author Mr Sanghvi has not tried to understand the MK Gandhi’s cunningness. If you look at the various episodes of fasting undertaken by Gandhi then you will realize that they were mostly to force Hindus to follow dictats given by him. And to advantage of Muslims who as usual used violence to suppress Hindus. As if 800 years of atrocities committed by Muslims were not enough, he put forward the idea that ” Minorities ” should be allowed to rule. His views on Mopala genocide of Hindus are well known to repeat here. His only positive contribution in favor of Hindus was that he brought into focus the poor and downtrodden into politics. And if his image can help India learn cleanliness, then why not use it ? After all Congress government spent crores of taxpayers rupees on building MK Gandhi into Mahatma. ( I know like some of my earlier comments this will not be punished. But let Mr Sanghvi read it).
They are afraid Gandhijis true adherence to Hinduism in letter n spirit in word n practice in personal n public life will one day expose their hollow edifice of hindutva. So the hate beneath the titular respect.
