The Modi government refers to the cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who became the 14th Prime Minister of India in May 2014. The government is headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), a coalition of political parties.
Under Modi’s leadership, the government has focused on transformative initiatives aimed at economic growth, infrastructure development, and national security. Some of the landmark policies include the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), demonetisation of high-value currency notes in 2016, and the controversial revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which ended the region’s special status. The Modi government has also emphasized initiatives such as ‘Make in India,’ ‘Digital India,’ ‘Skill India,’ and the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ (Clean India Mission).
While it has received praise for boosting economic growth and improving infrastructure, it has also faced significant criticism. Its handling of the anti-CAA protests, the 2020 farmers’ protests, and issues surrounding the delivery of data—such as the absence of a national census and the lack of transparency regarding COVID-19 death tolls—has sparked public debate. The government has also been criticized for its response to social issues, such as the Hathras rape case and the conflict in Manipur.
Despite these challenges, the Modi government, now in its third term, continues to maintain a dominant political presence, securing electoral victories at both state and national levels.
Never ever take a cuckoo blabber, thoughts or fantasy for real. No one will take a mentally challenged to understand or engage in a dialogue. Feel sorry for these creatures that do not know that they do not know.
It’s interesting to note the reaction of bhaktas even on an article which speaks about increasing women’s awareness about social and political issues. True adherents of RSS ideology, these bhaktas get angry even at the idea of women raising any independent issues!
too true!
Which sort of drug did you take before writing this article.
a drug called sappne: of azadi-from-patriarchy
An important point that is often left out: CAA and NRC is deeply anti-women. First because women typically lack papers, be it refugees from another country or residents of this country. Often their identity is erased after marriage and they become “pannu-ki-ma” – how can they be expected to prove link to their ancestors? Another reason is that tracing antecedents through the maternal line is not accepted – at least as implemented in Assam – and there is no reason to believe that it will be different elsewhere. Fatherless children will be very very vulnerable and I would hate to be the woman who herself will make it to the list but whose children will be dragged away because her husband abandoned her. no wonder women are leading this movement.
The very interesting comments prove the veracity of the article. The current protests are led by women and implicitly embody, one one hand the anxiety of mothers for the future of their children in a hindu-rashtra, and on the other hand the rage we feel at the raging rape crisis and the complicity of hindutva patriarchy, which , it must be said, is hand-in-glove with mullah-patriachy – see how they elicited the immam of jamma masjid to denounce the anti-CAA protests.
Independent woman under burkha is like freedom of speech under sharia law. ????
typical idiotic male-centric view point.
Hahah I wish there was an upvote/downvote button but ThePrint is too scared it’ll ruin their propaganda I guess.
After her film’s 2-3 years she will not repeat it unless she again needs publicity.
In india rather than doing one’s job with dedication and with interest of the society in mind, protest for publicity is the best time pass.
There has to be a dislike button for articles
Why there is no unlike button for article.
FAKE NEWS ! FAKE NARRATIVE !
Yet another transparent attempt at manufacturing a narrative out of thin air by the looney left. The leftists believe that what matters is the narrative that can be manufactured and spread, truth be damned – an art perfected by the communists and the Nazis. This is part of the curriculum in their toxic labs like the JNU. The truth is that it has been the left that has been denying the rights of Muslim women (triple talaq) and the women of J&K (article 370 and 35A). But these lefties are filled with so much venom in their hearts that it is their nature to deliberately manufacture and push lies onto us – they must have a very low opinion of our intellect.
If nothing else, this should lay to rest to the fairy tale that triple talaaq will win the grateful votes of millions of ecstatic burqa clad women.
